About Andrew Davidson
I am Andrew Davidson, an R&D advisor, behavioural science practitioner, and data privacy consultant working at the intersection of research, policy, and applied technology. Through R&D Nordic, I support universities, public bodies, and innovation partners in designing, funding, and delivering complex projects involving AI, data, and cross-sector collaboration.
I have supported more than 250 research and innovation applications across the Research Council of Norway, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, NordForsk, Interreg, and related programmes. Across these applications, the total requested funding volume has been approximately NOK 500 million (GBP/EUR equivalents vary by exchange rate and year).
I have also contributed to 300+ governance and compliance deliverables, including DPAs, RoPAs, DPIAs, GDPR reviews, data-processing approvals, audit support, and contract-related privacy work.
My current work spans public and private sector settings across Scandinavia and the wider EU. I combine academic work at a university in Norway with private-sector consulting through R&D Nordic, applying the same core skills in both arenas: research strategy, funding development, AI governance, data protection, stakeholder communication, training, and the practical translation of complex policy into workable delivery.
This dual role keeps the work grounded. Academic rigour strengthens the consulting work, while active delivery for organisations feeds back into teaching, governance, and research collaboration.
I am also a member of the Digi Innlandet AI Expert Group, contributing to regional and national discussions on responsible AI adoption and public-sector capability building.

R&D Nordic exists to bridge policy and practice. I work best where complexity is high, incentives are misaligned, and clear thinking is required to move from ambition to delivery.
